Ok so all the other armies in 8th have had the same piece of kit represent two things in game and I can understand where games workshop where coming from save money on moulds etc but give people new models to buy from them fair enough.
I had a poke through the pics of the new empire stuff for the first time today. This time its THREE different things from the same moulds hmmmm verging on over the top imo.
Empire Celestial Hurricanum / Luminark of Hysh
Volkmar war alter
Saying that i suppose they still have miles to go before catching up on the MANY different rhino varients

some blog
Check out the pic on this blog
This came from black library first of all awesome pic.
Looking closely at it though obviously great big jetbike mid pic so that mustq be sammael right he's got one and fluff wise its supposed to be the last one.
Thing is though look in the background there's what looks very much like a second jetbike wtf?
Some said this might be an exploding landspeeder or other exploding vehicle. For me that shape and fire is unquestionably the same as the vehicle in the foreground.
Are black library paving the way for some mat Wardesque retconning?
Or did someone just (censored) up a painting (reminding me of the Monty python sketch where michaelangelo painted three christs at the last supper).

Again, i just post what i've been told by GW friends, and we're not talking red shirts or just store managers. When I have thoughts of my own or personal hopes, I state them as such.
The new Codex is done, and yeah, it should be leaving the printers shortly, to be stored up in ware houses for distribution within the next couple of months. As for models, apparently 4 waves are planned...there's a lot of Chaos to be covered. With the Daemons to be redone sometime next year (2013) for both 40K and Fantasy, we'll see the new Greater Daemon models then.
Interesting that vehicle upgrades have been brought up, especially for Legion specific types of weapons, and apparently we do get some similar to the old "3.5" codex in these. Poisoned flamers for Nurgle, higher strength/lower AP for Tzeentch, sonic weaponry for Slaanesh and brutal blades for Khorne? Raptors are Night Lords, where as Assault Marines are all Legions and can be marked.
As i've already mentioned, HQs will have an affect on the types of units/marks available to your Army. IF 6th Edition returns to Percentages, the Codex will make more sense...

Quick rule clarifications |

Just looking for a few rules to be clarified
1. Troops in OPEN TOP transport. When they Shoot do you measure the range from any point on the hull?
2. Troops who have jet packs, if they end or start there move in difficult terrain they have to make a dangerous terrain roll. Is this only for movement? ie what about assults.
3. Big Mek in a battle wagon. Big Mek SAG is a heavy weapon so cannot move and shoot. Can he do so from the battle wagon and is there a limitation on how far the wagon can move before it impacts on the ability of troops to fire from it.
4. Almost forgot this. Is an IC required to shoot at the same unit as the unit hes attached to or can he select his own target?
Cheers in advance
J

* Annihilation Barge (90pts)

* Annihilation Barge (90pts)
Gauss Cannon, Quantum Shielding, Twin-linked Tesla Destructor
The main difference it you loose 1 unit of Wraiths but gain 1 unit of Scarabs for holding up LR and Anrakyr's ability to take control of 1 enemy vehicle.
Only problem with this list is the debate about the firing point on a Catacomb Command Barge due to the new FaQs.
