  Chapter LGC Background
Posted by: - 08-01-2011, 02:15 AM - Forum: Warhammer 40k - Replies (24)

So, with producing our own chapter we want to know what the club feels would be a good background for them. Are they puritan or a bit radical? Do they have any favoured tactics? Is there a weapon they just can't leave home without? What legion did they come from? You get the gist, share your thoughts and help shape very own chapter of the Emperor's finest.

Ideas for my Space Wolves List.
Posted by: stalker - 07-19-2011, 07:32 PM - Forum: Warhammer 40k - Replies (27)

Hey guys, After my defeat to Colin's Chaos marines on Saturday, and listening to his thoughts, I've been thinking alot about my list and how I want my army to work.
Being a bit of a beginer to the 5th edition I'm learning as i'm going.

Seems to me that Space Wolf armies have become very shooty, from listening to people and reading bits on the web. Nothing wrong with that if people find it competitive. Or if it fits their style of play!

I dont care so much about having a list that everyone sees as a competitive build, I want something that fits with how I see the Wolves working. I used to play them in 2nd edition and back then they were the combat monster marines. I'd run right in to my opponents and rip 'em a new one! Only really using a squad of Long Fangs to pop tanks.

I'm not a player who likes to sit back, so I want to bring the fight to my opponents army. So the question is can it be done in the current edition and with the current Wolf codex.
The list would need to be quite agressive, maybe using more Blood Claws than Grey Hunters. Counter attack is good but its not in your face enough for me!

I normally base my list on what i have painted so at the moment I use alot of Grey Hunters, Rune Priest, and a Dreadnought in a drop pod.

I'll post more on here later but i'm bloody starving!
Feel free to help with ideas for creating a nice agressive list that might be effective at ripping limbs off from up close!

  Stormravens ?!
Posted by: stalker - 07-14-2011, 07:53 PM - Forum: Warhammer 40k - Replies (6)

Hey guys just a quick one to see what you guys feel about the following!

I love the idea of a Stormraven carrying Bjorn and Bjorn's chosen wolf guard. I know Bjorn is over priced and well not as good as he used to be game wise, I just like the fluff behind him!

Now I know there is no Stormraven in the SW codex, but here is where i'm confused;
The guys in GW have said they are ok for use in other marines armies, I know not for tournies of course, since they were featured in White Dwarf.

What is your feeling on the matter?
My friend Mark and I were talking and he seemed fine about me using one, or anyone else for that matter.

The next problem, what slot would one take up?
Blood Angels - Heavy Support
Grey Knights - Fast Attack

Sorry if the thread is a little weird, was just thinking about it today in work.
