  Easter Endurance Event - 03/04/10
Posted by: J65 - 03-29-2010, 04:32 PM - Forum: Warhammer 40k - Replies (11)

I realise it's very late notice, but I thought that some of the prospective Lisburn Gaming Club players might like to give this a go. It might help to motivate people to get some models painted up for opening day.

Rules
- This is a painting contest, where players attempt to paint an army in 12 hours.
- It should* be a legal 40K, WFB or LoTR army of 500 points or more, and must contain at least 20 models.

Location - wherever you like. You could do it by yourself at home or gang up with other painters in your area. You just need to post before and after pics of the army in the EEE thread, and if you've time, feel free to add some progress reports.
Timetable - The event starts at 12 noon and finishes at 12 midnight. You need to post the before pic(s) by noon, and the after pic(s) shortly after midnight.
Entry Fee - None

Awards

Iron Painter - To acheive this award you must paint your army within the time limit. You are allowed to prep your army before the event, and the models may be cleaned, assembled, based (you can add your basing material in advance) and undercoated (as long as the model is all one colour then anything goes).

Iron Skull - There are two ways to win the Iron Skull award:
1 - As with Iron Painter, but you paint a larger army, 30 models/1000 points.
2 - You paint 500 points but start with the models still boxed and blistered.

Adamantine Skull - For the truly brave, paint 30 models/1000 points starting with the army boxed and blistered.

Best Army - We'll run a forum poll so that the entrants can vote on which army they think is best.

Biggest Army - For the player who paints the most models.

This event is just a bit of fun, but hopefully it will encourage players to get some painting done. More painted models can only be a good thing.

Anyone interested? If so post here with what army you're going to paint and what level you're aiming for.

* while it would be nice if everyone painted a fully legal army, if it doesn't suit you to do so, you don't have to.

Ok this is mainly 4 all u GW vets out there but id greatly like to run a campaign of a few of the better games. Mordheim and Battlefleet Gothic are some of the best games GW have ever released and some of the cheapest to play (4 GW stuff anyway). Both of these we are capable of runnin if people want and theres a few other classics like gorkamorka too.

ok people lets have a debate no loyalties to your particular armies pureply on fluff and the actual stories of the armies history of the battles etc...

chaos? vamps who?

my money would probably go on vampires.. all powerful can raise the dead etc.. plus very hard to kill. if enough of them banded together they would be unstoppable

Same as fantasy one, what unit always rocks the battlefield

For me
Eldar: Wave Serpents whatever payload they are delivering
Orks: Big Mek with KFF the best support unit in game for a horde army
Daemonhunters: Callidus assasin, the psychological edge after you say "word in your ear" always wondering when and where she will strike has won games even when she doesn't acheive much

So inspired by a chat I've been having

What unit for you always goes above and beyond?

For me it is marauder horsemen of khorne with flails in WoC
Pegasus Knights for Brets
Ogres not played enough to say

Hi guys

I was never very good at working out points totals, wondered if you could lend a hand?

basically the contents of the marines from the black reach set (termies, dreadnought and two tactical squads with a commander)

plus a predator and a rhino

plus a terminator wolf guard squad (5 plus captain)

space marine combat squad

either rough or exact will be a big help

I know its an IG tank, but surely I could get away with having one...even if I wasnt playing apocalypse?

I just love the model, and really would love to paint one up in wolves colours.....
