Specialist Games Returning???
#1
Dunno if you guys have seen the breaking news either someone has came up with the worlds greatest trolling idea or several small gw stores have just leaked a massive GW announcement that they are bring back their specialist games range!

So in the last few hours some Games Workshop local stores started posting on their facebook page about the return including BFG, necromunda, blood bowl and a bunch of other games. Now admittedly my bullshit meter was going crazy when I read this yeah right sure since when have GW announced games before they were ready to release them. So i had a look at the facebook pages of the stores in question and sure enough it is on there they do seem like legit pages (though I know in the past people have created fake stores).

So now everyone is going wtf is this true? Is Specialist games coming back? Or has someone just epically trolled the international gaming community we shall wait and see lol

In other GW other games news (posssibly related if betrayal at calth is the first arrival fro the specialist games range) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMJ4QVvKaAM GW have released a play through video for betrayal of calth.... Yes GW have seemingly discovered that youtube is good for something other than 30 second teaser videos. Lately GW has been producing painting tutorials for various models and if you haven't seen them go take a look they aren't bad actually but this time they've release a 43 minute play through video definitely a shift in how they use their on-line presence.

Bit more news on this hastings (one of the more reliable rumour guys out there) has turned around and said that this is a thing. He has also said this will not be under the control of GW and instead be a Forgeworld like entity.

he's also said epic and blood bowl are priorities. EPIC! Yeah I'm excited about that.

IF this ends up holding water, I hope very fervently that they decide to reintroduce Aeronautica Imperialis. That is a great game.

It's definitely true that screenshot I posted is from gws app tis official the specialist games division is returning.

Looks like they plan to be like fantasy flight games producing boardgames but also lines of games like the ones mentioned above.

This is all very interesting! I imagine it might be a while before anything gets released but if betrayal at Calth is anything to go by good times are ahead. Makes me think back to all those rumours about new bloodbowl models designers had been working on.

It's funny that any normal company would do this anyways but when GW does it it's like " ermahgerd" best company ever.

I think the reaction has been more like "omg wait are they actually doing something we want wtf!"

GW have one of the best gaming IPs and legacys available in wargaming its about time they realise they are a gaming company and make some games people will be all over them.

The fact this was released on their store facebook pages and no one believed it until it was released on their app says something about what people think of them lol

Feck em . The fan editions of their game are much better and evolve due to improvements not sales. I have no interest in playing Necromunda that gets a new overpowered gang every few months or back to the (censored) that was Necrons in Gothic. (censored) GW I'm going nowhere near them

I would love to have another crack at epic or gothic but GW will do what they did to 40K and destroy the games.

Wow, will be watching this with interest. Absolutely love Mordheim, Blood Bowl, Epic and Man O' War (although the last one wasn't ever technically a Specialist Games game IIRC) - brilliant games. This could be brilliant, or terrible (imagine if they AOS them all!), but worst case we get new models (which you don't HAVE to use), and renewed interest in the games, and just use the old rules.
